Helping our nation’s heroes is in my blood. Living a life of service above self was instilled in me by my parents as a child. Especially, my father, who is an Army Veteran. In my opinion, a life without cause has no effect.
I have come to realize that a life lived to help others is the only one that matters. It is my duty ... This is my highest and best use as a human.
Stacey started by carrying around small hygiene packs she pre-assembled to pass out in her community. But when delivering in the community the act was met with "What am I supposed to do with this?," instantly the solution came, "I have a shower on my Jeep! I could go to them!"
Meet Stacey Buckner, a devoted advocate for veterans. For nine years, she's dedicated herself to serving Veterans at the Fayetteville VA Medical Center. Her exceptional volunteerism earned her the 2022 NC Governor's Medallion Award and global recognition as a CNN Hero in 2023. Locally, she received the 2023 City View Power of Giving Award for her work with homeless Veterans. Stacey founded Off-Road Outreach, a nonprofit supporting veterans, and serves as its Executive Director. She's also a resilient Traumatic Brain Injury Survivor, motivational speaker, certified NC Peer Support Specialist, and recipient of the Tom Miller Advocacy Award, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to making a difference.

Kelli Willoughby serves as the Executive Director of the USO North Carolina after previously holding the position of Vice President of Programs and Human Resources. Kelli has over 20 years of experience working in nonprofit management and leadership. Her father was career Army and she continues to utilize skills and traits developed as a military child in her own career. Kelli has worked for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Feeding the Gulf Coast (FL) Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity, but she truly feels honored to return home to North Carolina and serve with the USO NC team in supporting our nation’s military and their families. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration with a focus on Human Resources and a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, both from the University of Central Florida. She lives in Sanford, NC with her husband David and their children Caroline and Julian.

Landrey, a dedicated community relations professional, brings her expertise from diverse industries like craft beer, sports, entertainment, and coffee to her true passion: community service. With a BBA in Business Management from Angelo State University and ongoing pursuit of a Master's from Troy University, she moved to Fayetteville in 2021 as a military spouse, fully embracing her new community. Landrey actively volunteers with Off-Road Outreach, mentors for WISHING (Women In Sports Helping Inspire the Next Generation), and leads the C3 - Community Cohesion Committee of Fayetteville. In her leisure time, she enjoys concerts, road trips with her husband, and reading with her senior dogs, Shyla and Diddle.
